Before and After

We are just four weeks now from Baby Bakken #3's due date. I've been all a scamper trying to get a room ready for him (or her.) This room was a nightmare to fix up. I had to clean graffiti (anybody heard of "Vampire Breathless"?) off of the cabinets. All the trim was in bad condition. The walls were a depressing blue. The ceiling had three different colors of paint I had to cover and to top it all off there was dried paint all over the carpet. It took me several weeks of hard work to make the room presentable but it makes the result all the much nicer.
I used leftover paint from our living room. And for some reason I can't get a very accurate picture of what this green looks like. It's far softer in person than in photo. I've yet to hang anything on the walls and the curtains are temporary until we meet our little babe. If this baby is a girl, you better bet there will be flowery curtains up.

Here's our little guest room/nap room in the basement. It's all ready for summer company!

This is just a peak at what I'm doing now. I just painted the trim in our kitchen and hope to get a start on the cabinets before Baby comes.

It was a joyful Sabbath spent in the sun...
With good buddies...

And rock-throwing!

Corn on the Cob

Two blog posts in one day! Don't get used to this.
We had our first corn on the cob for the season and it sure was delicious. Seems a bit too early for it, but I won't complain.

Maybe he thought we said "Say cheesie!"

Now this is one veggie we can all get excited about!

Jammie Time

I've been lame blog-wise lately. And I still don't have any good pictures to post. But I do have this video. Nothing exciting - but maybe something that atleast doting grandparents and aunties can appreciate.

We love our mothers and the Palouse

For Mothers Day we went hiking on Kamiak Butte (after a delicious brunch, of course.) The boys loved all the sticks they found on the hike.
Here we are taking a quick breather on the way up. I look like I've been stuck indoors growing a baby all winter. I have! But the sun has finally come out and we're all excited to see it.
Let me out!

And that tiny town in the distance is our little Moscow.

Family Picture

I'm afraid this is as good as it's gonna get as far as family pictures go.

We celebrated Dan's 27th birthday yesterday. We had pork chops, risotto, roasted broccoli and followed it up with an orange blueberry cake. And wow, our walls really aren't that neon.
