Fatness Update

They could pass as twins if only Jack had a beard.

Oh - And Patrick's sleeping 9 hours at night!!!!!

Grandma Bakken and Auntie Denise made Patrick this quilt and gave it to him on St. Patrick's day last week. I love it - I think Patrick does too.

Ready for bedtime?
I took a look at Jack's baby book today. Turns out that by Patrick's age (10 weeks, I think) Jack was sleeping through the night, laughing, doing little baby pushups and almost rolling over. He must be the typical firstborn over-achiever. Patrick has done none of that. Patrick doesn't even bother lifting his head during "tummy time." I think he's just lazy. Plus I don't put him on his tummy very often due to the ground being a very dangerous play area. I'm just fine with Patrick taking his good ol' time at growing up. He sure has Jack beat at weight gain. I certainly wouldn't mind if he hurried up at sleeping through the night. But I guess those 3 am snacks are important to pack on the weight.

Still my baby

Jack fell asleep during his morning quiet time. Unfortunately, when this happens he does not take an afternoon nap.

Jack LOVES "helping" me in the kitchen. I find it easier to let him stand on a chair and eat the food as I cook than to not allow him to be involved. If he's wandering around while I cook he tends to sneak up and grab knives and such off the counter.

I pulled this ball maze out last week. Every time he put a ball up at the top and watched it make its way to the bottom he would reverently gasp "oh wow." After about 15 minutes of that he found it more fun to deconstruct it and throw the pieces around.

Jabba Smiles

Patrick started smiling several weeks ago, but I never managed to capture it on "film". (Funny to think that Jack and Patrick will someday have to ask me what film is, and I'll feel old because I once used it.)

And now you can see why I called him "Jabba."
