County Fair

Patrick and I checking out the guini pigs (boring!)

Jack sought Daddy's comfort at the sheep barn. He's not a big fan of anything larger than...

chickens! He loved the baby chicks.

The bunnies were okay too.

Patrick's crawling and climbing all over the place. He's even adventurous enough to stand up and let go. He's got good balance. Slow down, Patrick, you just turned 8 months!

Look at that blond hair - he's such a cutie. Poor little Tattat has a fever right now (swine flu?) Other than that he doesn't seem too horribly sick. But he's definately not as active, curious and happy as he normally is. I can't wait for him to be his silly self again.
Oh yeah - Jack had his 2 yr check up (and shots!) last week. He tips the scale at a measly 25 lbs (10th percentile), but is almost 36 inches tall (75th.) I'm really anxious to see how much Patrick weighs, I think he'll be outweighing Jack before too long. They're already sharing some shorts and pajamas. I really need it to start cooling off here - Patrick's outgrown all of his summer clothes!

The Domestic Duo

It's all Jack's doing. But Patrick got it on the action. And yes, that is a vacuum cleaner tube Jack's putting his mouth on.

Yesterday Jack had placed his bowl of goldfish crackers on the coffee table. Patrick pulled himself up to the table, pulled the bowl off, and devoured every last cracker.

And he enjoyed it very much.

Jack turns 2!

This is completely out of order. Blogspot can be annoying in that way.

I bought a bunch of toys for Jack at a garage sale this summer. When it comes to toys for toddlers, I definately think quantity is more important than quality. This helicopter was top toy of the evening. As soon as this was unwrapped I had to finish unwrapping the rest of the toys for him because he was just too busy piloting the helicopter. It's such a cool toy that Jack's friend Emeth (who just turned 3) excitedly exclaimed "Oh my stars, the door opens!" Jack doesn't need to know I paid 50 cents for it. As you can see from this picture, Patrick thinks it's pretty cool too.

Here we are laughing at Patrick's expense.

I was a total failure of a cook this weekend. I actually had to bake three cakes - and the third was nothing amazing. But on the plus side, Jack got to test three batters.

As I said... this is definately out of order. Jack had a difficult time blowing hard enough. I had to help. Yikes, I'm scary.

Pre-party bday boy flying lesson. I love how Patrick watches with such hope that he too can fly some day.

Bedtime story.

Testing the chocolate frosting.
And this was from the first cake.

Patrick's newest trick. Where's the time flying? He's not allowed to stand up yet!

September (already?!)

We had a delightful trip up to Coeur d'Alene where we visited my Uncle Tracy and Aunt Deann (Carter too!) The boys took a little dip into the lake.

Patrick figured out how to stand up. Yikes.

Patrick loved the sand. He ate it by the fistfulls.

Jack did not like the sand, he wouldn't budge for about 15 minutes until we made him. I enjoyed not having to run after him for that short quarter-hour.

But he did love the toy store.

Back at home... Patrick discovered the tupperware drawer.
